Electronical voltage regulators emReg N are devices for pulse-width-modulated regulation of network voltage by means of series compensated AC-chopper with bridge-configuration of antparallel transistor (IGBT) switches and an auxiliary transformer TRNx as in-series voltage source with possibility of polarity reversal. The electronical voltage regulator emReg N controls the direction and effective value of transformer primary winding current, and thus the effective value of transformer secondary winding voltage, in a way that the secondary winduing of the transformer is voltage source superimposed to the network voltage, practically without distortion and influence to power factor.

             emReg N are regulators with microprocessor control of their own functions, with built-in memory of permanenly memorized parameters of control, regulation and protection with automatic self-initiated functions, with intelligent exchange of information with their enviroment and recognition of statuses and parameters on its interfaces.                                                                     Auxiliary protection against short circuit is not necessary. Protective and self-protective functions are: automatic resetting of protection caused by overvoltage spike-surges, automatic bypass of regulators in case of damage or protection tripping; protection from overcurrent and short circuit current (controlled switch-off in interval 10-100us), active over-temperature manage- ment incorrect function of the enviroment (cabinet). Each of the aforementioned protection functions has at least two levels of action.                                                                                                                          In practical use of the regulator as a voltage stabilizer, output voltage set-value is fixed and factory programmable. The use of the regulator as a variable set-value voltage regulator, output voltage can be varied manually by means of cabinet control-processor PRO-RN through his interactive man-machine interface (functional keyboard and LCD).                                           These regulators have been in use for a shorter period of time. The oldest devices in operation have been in use for three years and are highly reliable (less than 3 % of failures a year) over the years of uninterrupted work (history dana on basis of cca 100 one phase units) on installations with highest exposure to hard operative and atmosphere conditions (oscillations of voltage, flicker, overvoltage spikes, close thunder blows –installations with common PEN grounding, short circuits in installations etc.).
